The time has come! After six years of community outreach, planning and studies, and feedback following a 2022 pre-app meeting, the Yard South development team has filed a zoning application to the City of South Portland to create a dynamic mixed-use neighborhood on 30 acres of primarily vacant land within the Eastern Waterfront. While the application is being reviewed by the City, we will continue to host informational events to present Yard South’s community benefits and answer your questions.

Please note that the “Project Scope/Abstract” description has not been updated, as city staff is still reviewing the application.

What happens next?! 

The Planning Department will internally review the application and provide our team with comments. Once we respond to those comments, and the application is deemed complete, the first planning board meeting will be scheduled. Yard South's first public hearing likely won’t occur until mid-October. Once the planning board provides a recommendation, we will schedule a first read with the City Council.
